Before the day

Hello!

Today, I wanna share with you my new experience going to Thailand for a month. This is my first trip going overseas and I’m so excited! here I would like to tell you the purpose why I’m going there.

A long time before the day

It was Wednesday, I got a message from my friend. She sent me a file that informs about SEA-Teacher program 7th Batch. Tbh, I’m not sure to join this program. I don’t have any special skills, and my English is not fluent enough, my GPA is on average, and the most important there’s no financial support from my parents.

The next day, the director of physics education was hiring a student who’s want to join this program. Then I asked him about the requirement, he remembered me and called me directly to urge me to join this program. He said there’s a lot of benefits will you get, also there’s a selection test such an interview and the department will give financial support. So, I gave my full name and my student number. I was on my waiting for the selection, suddenly my friend told me and gave me an information letter that I was chosen to be delegates of this program.

It felt random. I can’t explain my feeling. Everything mixed by one. How can I? What should I do?

Time goes by, and the interview from the host university was on the date. I was practice and prepare for an answer there might be asked. Rainy day and low internet connection also be my friend on that day. It didn’t take more than 10minutes. I can through the interview smoothly and nervously.

next week, the host university send me an invitation letter and another document and make me sure that I will be going to Thailand in near time. It was like a dream! I never plan it before. But one of my dreams is traveling all around the world. So, yaa maybe Thailand is the initial point.

First Flight

I went to Thailand on 5 January at night and arrive at Chiang Rai on 6 January at 11 am. I’m not alone, there are 6 students will be going at the same time including me. I don’t know if it was an effect of first flight or first trip because I felt headache and fever during the trip. I slept over and feeling dizzy all the time. The plane came on time and safe flight until Chiang Rai. Lucky me, I got a seat near the windows twice.

First meal @Chiang Rai

as I said before, I slept over and didn’t go out to find a meal, So, Mita brought me a bowl of fried rice. The taste was good and have a same as in Indonesia, the difference is this fried rice contains too much water I think. I’m not sure, but the fried rice tasted wet.

So, Thank you for reading so far! Here we go to the next day, Orientation day @CRRU!
